Hooo!, this is for Yume! I had fun writing this story, and I hope you enjooooy!

It was when they infiltrated Orb - Athrun and Nicol had split up with Yzak and Dearka to cover more ground. The Archangel, the legged ship that always seemed to just slip from their fingers each time they came so close to destroying it - there was no way it had left Orb without their noticing it.

"No," Yzak stated for the third time, eyes narrowed at Dearka, who let out a puff of air and shrugged.

"It wouldn't take long. And it's not like we've found anything, anyway."

"That's exactly why we need to keep looking, Dearka!"

Silence followed, and the day rolled by. Idle remarks bounced from one boy to the other as they kept their eyes peeled for any signs of their target, but nothing ever appeared.

It was when Yzak spoke up to suggest they start heading to the meeting point, that Dearka pressed the idea again.

"So, we'll need to backtrack to get there, right?"

"..."

"Well?" Dearka couldn't help the small twitch of his mouth, and Yzak threw his arms up in an over-dramatic defeat.

"Fine, fine! Then will you shut up?!"

They took a small detour down the road and to the small boardwalk along the beach nearby. The setting sun looked like it was being swallowed up by the ocean, and the sky was just barely tinged with orange. The beach was scarcely occupied by this time, and the two infiltrating soldiers descended the wooden steps and moved across the sand.

"See? It's pretty nice, right?"

Yzak replied with a weak shrug, but didn't exactly hide the peaked interest that was easily detectable through his glancing around.

They didn't remark on anything in specific, but slowed their walk and kept a closer eye on the breaking waves - enough to make it obvious that they enjoyed the scene, as reluctant as Yzak was to go in the first place.

Once they met up with Athrun and Nicol, the sky was a burning orange. And as they drove back to their meet-up point to return to their submarine, the sun disappeared, and the first few stars dimly appeared in the sky.

They climbed back down to the waters and boated back to their temporary base, and Yzak paused to look up to the sky one last time.

"They're not as bright as they are from PLANT," Dearka spoke as he stopped beside him. "But they're not that bad like this, either."

"That bad."

With a toss of his hair, Yzak descended into the submarine, and Dearka just smiled.
