In the Owaranai Asu E game, along with one of the Character File books, it's stated that
Yzak has an interest in folklore. He collects items and literature relating to it from
the various places that he visits. When in Orb, he purchased a set of amulets for his
teammates. This sort thing also appears in the SEED Club comics.
Also in the Owaranai game and the Character File book, it states that Dearka's hobby is
Japanese fan-dancing. It mentions that since the war he hasn't done it much, but he does
it very well.
Of the five elite graduates from ZAFT's military academy, Yzak graduated second best of them
all. It's not stated where Dearka stands there.
Dearka defected in the first series because sales of his Buster model were not doing well.
